Secret # 2 The bun-Gateway Market’s buns are designed to hold up to all the juiciness that our burger has. They are made fresh daily in the South Union Bakery. You should always lightly toast the bun with butter before serving.
Secret # 3 Cheese-need I say more? Go for the classics like American or Swiss, or visit the Gateway Market Cheese Department for unique offerings such as gorgonzola dolce, gryere, comte, or fresh mozzarella. Make sure to melt the cheese before serving.
Secret # 4 Seasoning Use kosher salt or sea salt, as well as freshly ground pepper
Secret # 5 The cooking method – flat top griddled or on a char broiler. You need to have sufficient heat to get a crust that seals in the juices . We do our burgers on both.
