LIVEWELL MINUTE: O-Arm

Posted on: 4:35 pm, February 2, 2012, by , updated on: 08:21pm, March 7, 2012

The O-arm System is a multi-dimensional surgical imaging platform that is used in spine, orthopaedic and trauma-related surgeries. It brings intra-operative imaging to a new level with superior image quality.

Dr. John Piper, The Iowa Clinic says, “Time is critical in the operating room. The O-arm offers multidimensional images in about 30 seconds, and provides surgeons with real time imaging not offered by other available technologies.”

Using these images surgeons can view the patient anatomy in the operative position, monitor the status of the surgery, and verify the surgical changes with a 3D image prior to the patient leaving the surgical suite. As a result, patients undergoing spinal procedures may experience less invasive surgeries, faster recovery times, and improved outcomes.

Dr. Piper says, “Taking care of you and your family is our top priority. Our professionals focus on enhancing patient care, safety and satisfaction – everyday. That’s why our operating rooms carry state-of-the-art imaging and surgical navigation equipment. It can make a difference.”
