A van carrying 11 people Tuesday afternoon left two in critical condition after their van rolled over in Dallas County.

The accident happened on Highway 141 South of Woodward around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

State Troopers say a van varying 11 people swerved to avoid a merging vehicle which caused them to hit the shoulder of the highway, where the van then rolled.

Two passengers in the van were taken by helicopter to Des Moines hospitals in critical condition.

Six other passengers in the van were taken by ambulance; their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Troopers say they had to be fast and efficient to handle all of the causalities Tuesday.

All 11 people in the van worked at the Tyson Plant in Perry and were returning home to Des Moines.
