Four men have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Des Moines convenience store early Wednesday morning.

Des Moines Police say the Git N’ Go at 2140 E. Park Ave. was robbed just before 12:20 a.m. The night manager of the store says she was mopping the floor when a man entered the store and pointed a gun at her, demanding money.

The employee gave the man money and he demanded she get more money from a safe. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and a carton of cigarettes.

A witness, who left the store when the suspect displayed a gun, saw another male standing beside the building when he left. He then saw the suspect join the man and they got into a car with two other males inside.

Using a description of the vehicle and suspects provided by the witnesses, police were able to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect’s car on E.14th Street.

During their investigation, police say they determined all four men participated in the robbery. Twenty-three-year-old Duit Diew, 20-year-old Lol Dak, 19-year-old Ruot Puok, and 18-year-old Chuol Mai have been arrested and charged with one count each of first degree robbery.

Police are looking into whether the men are responsible for any other Git N’ Go robberies.
