A Drake University student reported that he was attacked as he walked to his apartment, early Saturday morning.

Twenty three-year-old Benjamin Chappell told police that he was walking home at around 2:00 a.m.  He was with his friend, a young woman, near the intersection of Forest and Beaver avenues.

According to a report by the Des Moines Register, the two claim that a black SUV pulled up alongside them and a man got out of the front passenger side.

Chappell told police the man asked him if he dropped something.  Chappell said he looked down, and the man hit him several times.

Chappell suffered bruises on his face, cuts on his neck and possibly a broken nose.

Chappel said the attacker took off.  Police have no suspects.
