Governor Branstad continued his campaign in support of lean finely textured beef Tuesday on the Iowa State University campus.

Branstad sported a shirt that read "dude it's beef" and was the featured speaker at the event in Ames. The Governor is leading nationwide efforts to promote the ground beef product that's been disparaged as "pink slime."

Branstad says the product touches every part of Iowa agriculture--from producers who raise cattle to grain farmers who feed cattle to beef processing plants.

The controversy over the product was fueled by social media.

Branstad says ISU agriculture students are the perfect group to counter the negative campaign.
