Christie Vilsack says there’s one major thing that sets her apart from her opponent, Congressman Steve King, and that’s her stance on education.

Vilsack and Maryland Congressman Steny Hoyer attended an event at Ballard-Huxley High School Wednesday to speak to an economics class.

After the class, the former Iowa first lady told attendees that King took a stand against rural schools like Ballard-Huxley when he voted for the Paul Ryan Budget in Congress.

Vilsack leads king in the early fundraising raise.

King is seeking a sixth term in Congress.  No Democratic candidate has finished within ten points of him in his five previous elections.
