Home sales are up in Iowa for the ninth straight month.

A report out Wednesday says home sales are up 18 percent compared to a year ago.

The median price for homes is also up 8.2 percent to $119,000.

The Iowa Association of Realtors says the numbers show Iowans realize there’s a good supply of homes on the market and interest rates are still low.

But the report also shows homes are staying on the market longer.  The average is 121 days.  That’s up five days from last year.
