Storm damage also forced the Des Moines Playhouse to cancel all of Sunday’s events, because they still didn’t have power restored.

“Today we were so excited about coming back and no one thought there would be a problem with it being fixed by now and it’s not,” says Playhouse Executive Director John Viars.

The storm knocked out power ten minutes into last night’s performance of “Ring Of Fire.”

The show did go on , as cast members sang acoustic versions of Johnny Cash’s music as the audience helped light the house with their cell phones.

Playhouse officials also canceled Sunday’s matinee performance, and other events planned for Sunday night.

The staff plans to contact ticket holders to make arrangements.
