MORNING ACCIDENT: Ames Resident Killed

An Ames resident was killed in a car accident in Des Moines early Sunday morning.

Forty one-year-old Terry Rehlander of Ames was killed when the Dodge pickup truck Terry was driving left the right side of I-235 and struck the bridge at the NE Broadway overpass.

Police say the truck came to rest in the south ditch and Rehlander was ejected.

The report states that Rehlander was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Police pronounced Rehlander dead at the scene.
