We all know exercise is important, but almost equally as important is what you eat before, during and after working out.

Fareway dietician Whitney Packebush shares the foods you should stock for the days you're going to the gym... And which foods to avoid.

To fuel yourself before:

  • Low in Fat and Fiber
  • Moderate amounts of carbohydrates and proteins
  • Not new
  • Fluids

To fuel during:

  • Hour long workout- 8 oz sports drink
  • Water is fine for short workouts

To refuel after:

  • 10-20 g Proteins
  • Carbohydrates
