The state medical examiner says he's unable to confirm what killed a Boone woman earlier this year.

34-year old Emily Fazzino was found dead in the bathtub of her home on January 29th. Her husband, Alexander Fazzino, found her unresponsive and called 911.

The two were still living together but were in the process of going through a divorce.

Alexander Fazzino told 911 dispatchers that someone was attempting to drown herself in the tub. He also told investigators his wife was addicted to prescription pain medication.

The state medical examiner released Tuesday that Emily Fazzino died of undetermined causes.

Her family released a statement saying,

"The state medical examiner informed us that when Emily died, her body was drug-free.  More importantly though, Emily did not commit suicide and she did not die of natural causes.  As a result, we understand that the only possible causes of death are accident or homicide."

The autopsy results were turned over to Boone county attorney Jim Robbins.  Robbins will decide if charges will be filed in the case.
