Some junior high inventors from Story County are taking their invention to an international conference in Brazil.

"The Flying Monkeys"--a group of 8th and 9th grade girl scouts from Ames and Gilbert have been invited to the international conference on science in Rio de Janeiro later this week.

The girls invented a prosthetic hand for a young girl two years ago.

They'll present the hand, called the bob-one, at two different events in Brazil.

The girls have already been invited to the white house by president Obama and won a $20,000 dollar grant.
