DRAFT PROSPECTS: White And Barnes Look Toward Draft
The NBA draft is two weeks from Thursday, and we should see two players with local connections go in the first round.
Former Cyclone, Royce White is a small forward with point guard skills.
White played just one season at Iowa State, but turned heads with dominating play against UConn and Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament.
There are concerns about White’s troubled past, and anxiety issues, but he comes highly recommended from former NBA exec. Fred Hoiberg, and word is White’s doing well with interviews.
Former Ames High star Harrison Barnes was a lottery lock after his freshman season at North Carolina. Barnes returned for another year, and though some think his stock dropped, he remains a likely top five pick.
At least one mock draft has Barnes going 7th to the Warriors, and White going 30th to the Warriors. That would be something.
