A group of metro kids is officially ready for a safe summer.

Parents proudly watched their children graduate from the Des Moines Police Department's Safe City Program.

The four and five year-olds spent the week learning about manners, bullies, poison safety, fire prevention and stranger danger.

Officer Kelly Stuhr started the program five years ago thanks to donations from the community.
