BREW FEST: Thousands Gathered To Taste Beers
More than 2,000 people had the chance to taste-test more than 220 beers and ciders downtown Saturday afternoon.
The Locust Street Bridge was packed as people lined up to taste, and appreciate different beers.
Forty-eight breweries offered samples, with 21 of those from Iowa. Another four breweries were represented that have yet to open.
Tickets allowed unlimited one ounce sample of the beers.
Rick Vanderleest, 2-time attendee said, “It’s not your usual big name, big three brewers, it’s a lot of different things people haven’t tried. A lot of people trying things for the first time, coming down and supporting local brewers that they enjoy”
This was the second year for the Iowa Craft Brew Festival.
