CHASE ARREST: Jasper County Chase

An Ames man is in custody following a chase through Jasper County Sunday.

A Jasper County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle in the Kellogg area around 8:00 Sunday morning.

The vehicle turned out to be stolen. The driver took off, eventually stopping in the Rock Creek area where the suspect ditched the car and took off on foot. 

With the help of a K-9 unit, authorities tracked down 26-year-old Jonathan Gardner of Ames.

He’s charged with driving while license revoked, driving while license suspended, eluding, and interference with official acts.

Gardner also had an arrest warrant out of Story County for failure to appear on dangerous drugs and possession of precursors.
