HOUSE DESTROYED: Madrid Fire “Suspicious”

A morning fire destroyed a central Iowa home a family was trying to fix up and fire officials say it's suspicious.

Madrid firefighters responded to home on Northwest 138th Avenue near Highway 17 around 6:00 Wednesday morning. Crews from Madrid and Polk City responded.

The Madrid fire chief says no one was living there, but a family has been fixing up the home.

No word on what caused the fire yet, but the fire chief says it could be suspicious.
