OVERNIGHT ROBBERY: Suspect Caught
A Hartford man is in the Polk County Jail accused of robbing a Windsor Heights convenience store.
Police were called to the Kum & Go at 7229 University around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
An employee at the store reported a man displayed a hand gun and demanded money.
Officers responding to the scene located a suspicious vehicle east of the Kum & Go driving without lights.
After a short chase, the driver, 28 year-old-Jeffrey McVey, lost control of the car and was taken into police custody.
McVey was identified as the man who robbed the Kum & Go.
He is charged with first degree robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, felony eluding and OWI as well as several traffic violations.
