STOLEN STATUE: 1,500 Pound Statue Disappears
A reward is being offered for a bronze statue that was stolen near Moravia in Appanoose County.
The 1,500 pound solid-bronze statue is of a large buck deer and a doe and was located in the 19000 block of Highway J18. It’s six-feet-tall, eight-feet-long and four-and-a-half-feet-wide.
The Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office says the statue was stolen in the early morning hour of Thursday.
It was created by Mike Capser, a nationally known Montana artist, for the owner of Bentley Management Group.
A $500 reward is being offered for the recovery of the statue and the arrest of those responsible for its theft. If you have any information on the stolen statue you’re asked to contact Appanoose County Crime Stoppers at (641) 856-3134.
