I think I’ve figured out what’s wrong with my knee. Or at least part of what’s wrong.
After finding out that nothing is broken and doing a week of RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) things were better. Not great, but better.
Then last week I was walking down the hall here at work, turned a corner and BAM! Pain all over again.
Do you think shoes like the ones I’m wearing today might be part of the problem? I always “poo-pooed” the notion, until now. I think years of high-impact workouts, age and crazy heels are catching up with me (the hot pink number in this photo is actually fairly conservative compared to some of the sky-high kicks in my closet). What’s a gal to do?!?! Start wearing orthopedic shoes? Ugh!
Remember the study by researchers at Iowa State? It found that heels may lead to joint degeneration and knee osteoarthritis.
Here’s the REALLY bad news – even flats and flip-flops are bad for your body. Check out this list of the worst shoes according to WebMD.
I might have to go shoe shopping just to make myself feel better.
