VP VISIT: Joe Biden Campaigns In Eastern Iowa

Posted on: 12:53 pm, June 26, 2012, by , updated on: 06:47pm, June 26, 2012

Vice President Joe Biden is in Iowa as part of a two day tour to re-elect President Barack Obama.

Biden talked to about 400 people at the UAW hall in Waterloo Tuesday morning. Biden focused on manufacturing jobs and building the middle class.

He pointed to John Deere’s Waterloo Works recent gains.

Biden also brought up President Obama’s opponent, calling Mitt Romney a good and decent guy, but out of touch.

“To all our skeptics, to all our Republican opponents — don’t tell me Americans can’t make things anymore, we can’t compete in the world market again, we can’t lead the world again. It’s just not true,” said Biden.

Biden will speak again in Iowa Wednesday. The vice president will speak at the Grand River Center in Dubuque at 10:00 a.m.

Romney supporters also spread their message Tuesday morning. About a dozen rallied at a park across from Obama’s Waterloo campaign office.

They talked about what they call President Obama’s failed policies for the middle class.
