CAR INTO HOUSE: Woman Charged With OWI

A Pleasant Hill woman is in jail after Des Moines police say she was drunk when she ran her car into a home early Wednesday morning.

It happened on the city’s east side near the state fairgrounds. Police were called to 3012 East Washington just after midnight.

When they arrived they found a car in the front of the home at that address. Police searched the vehicle and removed two prescription medication bottles.

The driver, 42-year-old Deanna K. Malaney, was taken into custody. She faces charges of OWI, failure to obey traffic device, and failure to maintain control.

She is being held in the Polk County Jai.
