KADYN’S AMENDMENT: US House Adopts Amendment
The US House has adopted an amendment named after an Iowa girl.
“Kadyn’s Amendment” passed unanimously Tuesday night.
It devotes at least $10-million to helping states enforce traffic laws that punish reckless drivers for illegally passing stopped school buses.
The amendment is named after Kadyn Halverson of Northwood.
The 7-year-old was hit and killed by a truck in May of 2011 while boarding her school bus.
The amendment is attached to a transportation funding bill.
Iowa already has its own version of the bill. Governor Branstad signed “Kadyn’s Law” in March.
