Channel 13 is proud to sponsor this central Iowa tradition as nearly 100 beautiful hot air balloons fill the sky at the
2013 National Balloon Classic
Friday, July 26 through Saturday, August 3
in Indianola
Morning balloon flights are scheduled for 6:30am and evening flights at 6:30pm. Balloon flights are extremely weather sensitive so stay tuned to Channel 13 News and Newsradio 1040 WHO for daily balloon flight updates.
NITE-GLOW EXTRAVAGANZA! The “Nite-Glo” Balloon Extravaganza is one event you will not want to miss! The moonlit sky provides an ominous background as flames light up the dazzling colors of the balloons. 2012 Nite-Glows are scheduled for Friday 7/26, Wednesday 7/31 and Thursday 8/1.
FANTASTIC FIREWORKS: Don’t miss the spectacular fireworks on each Saturday night of the event (7/27 and 8/3) at 9:30pm.
A CLASSIC PARADE The 2013 National Balloon Classic parade will make its way through Indianola. The parade will commence on Saturday, July 27th at 11 a.m.
ADMISSION The National Balloon Classic is affordable family fun. Admission prices for 2012:
- $3 for adults or $10 per car load
- Children 12 & under are FREE
- Morning admission is FREE to everyone
BALLOON RIDES Experience the thrill and excitement first hand by taking a balloon ride during the Classic.

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES There’s more to the Classic than just balloons. Enjoy the sounds of regionally-renowned bands and local entertainers.
FOR THE KIDS A giant 40-foot slide, maze, bounce house, along with other rides and activities.

Do not bring pets to the Classic. We will not allow them into the spectator area
