Northwest of Fort Dodge is a busy place these days.  Cargill has purchased and is remodeling an ethanol plant and CJ America is building a plant next to Cargill. When done both plants will employ around 300 people.  During construction another 300 people are coming to Ft Dodge to assist in the construction.

The Greater Ft. Dodge Growth Alliance has discovered a need for more new housing in the City.  That organization has begun a pilot project to start 4 new homes, in hopes of sparking other new construction. “Although we have current housing stock available,we need to meet all segments of the market, so new housing was one area of the market we need to initiate action in," said Tom Chalstrom of the Greater Ft Dodge Growth Alliance.

The Alliance is also conducting tours for people who may move to Ft. Dodge. A bus is used to show people Iowa Central Community College, Trinity Regional Health Center, the new Off Road Park, as well as Rosedale Rapids, and the new Middle School.
