PARK PATROL: Officers Enforce Alcohol Rules

Swimmers packed the beach at Raccoon River Park Wednesday afternoon, and park officials were watching.

Last month, a Des Moines teenager died at the beach.  Police say, he went outside the designated swimming area, got tired and didn’t make it back to shore.

Police are also stepping up park patrols this summer in an effort to stop the inappropriate use of alcohol on the beach.
