USS IOWA: Senator And Governor Attend Opening

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin and Governor Terry Branstad are in California for the 4th of July.

They are celebrating the commission of the USS Iowa.

It was moved to the Port of Los Angeles last month.  There, a non-profit group is transforming the 14-story ship into a museum.

Those attending Wednesday’s ceremony took a tour of the ship.

The ship opens to the public on Saturday.
