MURPHY’S LAW: Rash-ional Decision, Record-breaker, Record-high
By Chris Hassel
It’s “Star Wars Night” at the I-Cubs game, tonight. I really hope we get to see something like this!
The Cubs no longer have the worst record in baseball. But that may change by the end of the night.
ADM pitcher, Alec Rash, did something that 99% of us would never be able to do. Rash turned down $500K from the Philadelphia Phillies, to go to college at Missouri. I can’t imagine how hard that decision must have been.
The Barnstormers are having an awful season, despite the best efforts of quarterback J.J. Raterink. The first-year Barnstormer is set to pass Kurt Warner on Iowa’s the all-time single-season passing list. Raterink needs just 21 yards at KC, tonight, to break Warner’s 1997 mark of 4,149 yards.
I thought it was supposed to be a few degrees cooler, today. We reached 100-degrees, in Des Moines, again. Not only did we break a record…we had a record-high in July for the first time in 55 years! It feels like we’re in our fifth month of summer.
I’m headed to Arizona, next month. It’s been 15-degrees cooler, in Sedona, than it has been in Iowa. I just checked the temp in Cancun. The high today didn’t even reach 80!
