We have a really fun “Workout of the Week” for you tonight at 5. It’s all thanks to this guy – Tom Weaver.
Here’s part of the email Tom sent me a few weeks ago:
I’m a 65 year old Des Moines senior and stumbled upon a fun, adventurous and low-impact road to wellness in an unlikely sport – indoor rock climbing.
Wanting to climb with grace and power (and with my granddaughters) has given me a great rationale for getting and staying healthy and strong. And our granddaughters told me on a recent visit that none of their friends have a cooler grandpa <grin>. I’ll never forget that.
I hope you’ll consider this story idea; don’t wait too long – I’ll be 66 soon. I look forward to hearing from you.
… and here is Sonya conquering the wall. This was an AWESOME experience. We hope you’ll tune in this evening or watch the story online. If you’d like to try climbing, visit Climb Iowa in Grimes.
Tonight at 10 I hope you’ll join us to learn more about Quakerdale. “What’s that?” You might be wondering. It’s a lot of things, to a lot of people all over the state. It’s an organization that embodies “13 Cares”.
