NATIONAL CHAMPS: Metro Volleyball Team Wins Big

A group of girls from Iowa won the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship in Ohio this weekend. 

The Central Iowa Select 16 Maroon girls 16U volleyball team based out of Des Moines captured the title in Columbus on July 7th

The team won ten straight matches to make it to the championship match and only lost three sets during the entire tournament. 

Two of the girls, Kaylee Smith of Indianola and Megan Ballenger of Ankeny were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The tournament’s MVP award was given to Kyla Inderski of Urbandale.
