BURN BANS: More Counties Added To List
A lack of water means the State Fire Marshall is issuing more burning bans.
Many Iowa counties are now under a burning ban.
Many of the counties are in northeast part of the state, but Thursday, Story County was added to the list.
A burn ban means all, outdoor burning is prohibited.
Burn bans have already been put into effect in:
Bremer County, Buchanan County, Butler County, Clayton County, Delaware County, Dubuque County, Fayette County, Hardin County, Jefferson County, Johnson County, Linn County, Marion County, Marshall County, Scott County, Tama County, Wapello County.
Burn bans go into effect later this week in Story County, Mahaska County, Jackson County, Black Hawk County and Benton County.
