XENIA CUSTOMERS: Water Main Break Repaired

Xenia rural water customers who were left without water following a water main break now have their service restored.

About 175 customers were without water service in an area west of Boone.

Crews finished their repairs Thursday afternoon, but now the affected customers are part of a boil advisory because of the potential for bacterial contamination.

Water used for cooking or drinking will need to be boiled for at least one minute before cooling for use.

The tap water is safe to use for bathing.

The boil advisory will be lifted once tests on the water say it is safe for drinking.
