DRUG ARREST: Request For Help Leads To Drug Bust
A stranded motorist went to an Iowa farm house for help and instead got a gun his face.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
The driver approached the house on Highway 4 and 35-year-old Daniel Schug came out pointing a gun, yelling threatening statements and demanding the driver leave the property.
The sheriff responded and determined Schug was under the influence of drugs.
Further investigation revealed Schug was growing 100 marijuana plants valued at about $80,000.
Schug is now charged with 75 counts of manufacturing with intent to deliver among other charges.
