FINALLY RAIN: But It Isn’t Enough
The brief rain we saw Friday was enough to raise farmers hopes, but it probably didn’t do much for their crops. At the Busy Bee Farm in Indianola, the showers left as quickly as they rolled in, barely dampening parched land and offering little help to struggling crops.
”These are the tomato plants and pepper plants. They’re a little undersized.” Farmer Tyler Flinn says pointing at his crops, We didn’t get them in, just waiting for rain so we were a few weeks behind getting them in and thought it’d rain, thought it’d rain. And it never did rain.”
The experts tell us every little bit of rain helps right now, but what we really need is several days of it.
