WATER RATES: Xenia Fights Cost Increase

 The Xenia rural water district is fighting a legal attempt to force it to raise water rates.

This week, the company that insures revenue bonds issued by Xenia asked a Dallas County judge to appoint a third party who will raise Xenia’s water rates.

Xenia officials are promising to fight the action in court.

They say they are fixing their financial problems, and they don’t need to raise water rates.
