NEW HY-VEE: Urbandale Welcomes New Store

Sunday, Hy-Vee’s Urbandale store will close for good.

But shoppers don’t need to worry for long, in August, a new store will open right next door.

After 6:00 Sunday, workers will start making the move.  About 100 people are on hand to clear out the old store.

Hy-Vee plans to spend the next month stocking the shelves and getting ready for its grand re-opening.

The new store is nearly twice as big and will have hundreds of new parking spots for customers.  From a sushi restaurant to cooking classes, the idea is to make the Urbandale store a place for destination shopping.

Josh Asche, Hy-Vee Store Manager says, “You’ve heard one stop shopping before. I mean, this is that plus some.  You can do everything from launder your clothes to get your pharmacy goods to shop natural and organic.”

Hy-Vee’s new store in Urbandale will open on August 14th.
