DART FUNDING: U.S. DOT Gives $3 Million To DART
The U.S. Department of Transportation is giving DART over $3 million to help repair buses.
Congressman Leonard Boswell made the announcement Wednesday saying, “As more and more Des Moines area residents are relying on public transportation during tough economic times, it is vital that we keep our public transit systems up-to-date and increase efficiencies to serve our communities.”
The funding will go towards replacing farebox systems on the DART buses.
This project was selected on a competitive basis through the FY 2012 State of Good Repair Program.
