TRIAL TWIST: Witness Points To Different Suspect

A witness says she knows who is responsible for Charles Freeborn’s murder, and it’s not the man currently on trial.

Richard Polak is accused in the shooting that killed freeborn last August.

Wednesday, the defense called Marlene groves to the stand.

She testified Josh Gustafson a one time “person of interest” in the case admitted to her that he planned the shooting.

“He told me he set it up. He made sure he was going to be in jail when it happened, because before that he put a gun to Chucky’s head so he knew he would be a suspect,” said Marlene Groves, a witness.

Another witness said Gustafson admitted his involvement to her as well, through Facebook. The defense will resume calling witnesses Thursday.
