HIT AND RUN: Charges Filed In Cyclist’s Death

Charges have been filed in the hit-and-run death of a Dallas Center man who was riding his bicycle.

Sixty-seven-year-old Edward Giedraitis was hit and killed while riding his bike on 270th Street near Dallas Center on May 19th.

Friday, 31-year-old Troy Wanninger was charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He also faces several misdemeanor charges including failure to have a valid driver’s license, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wanninger appeared in Dallas County court Friday morning and was booked into the Dallas County Jail. He has since posted bond and been released.

The date for his arraignment has not been set yet.
