INTERSTATE CRASH: Woman In Critical Condition
A woman is in critical condition, after police say a man who shouldn’t have been driving smashed into her car on the side of interstate 235 Sunday.
Windsor Heights Police say the hood on 38-year-old Dusty Muerner’s car popped open as she drove. She couldn’t see so she pulled over near 63rd Street and got out of the vehicle, while her two children waited inside.
Another driver watched in horror as a car slammed into the back of Muerner’s car and tossed her in the air.
The victim’s husband says his wife is in critical condition, but she had been awake.
Fifteen-year-old Hayley Muerner suffered a bruised hip and 7-year-old Blake Muerner was treated for a broken collarbone and concussion. Both children have been released from the hospital.
Police say they cited 28-year-old Opal Waterman for driving on a suspended license.
