CHRISTMAS SPIRIT: The Drought Could Affect Christmas

The hot dry conditions aren’t just putting a damper on summer, the drought could steal Christmas, if you like having a live Christmas tree. 

Rick and Kathy Wyffels say they could lose 900 trees at their farm in the Quad Cities. 

Tree farmers say their crop is very sensitive and without rain and cooler weather they could lose years of hard work and the Christmas spirit.  

Tree farmers say it is too early to tell what impact the drought will have on availability and price this year.
