The Iowa Supreme Court has ruled in case involving strip searches at an Iowa school in 2009.

The court says the Atlantic School District does not have to release how it punished two of its employees who strip searched five female students following a reported theft at the school. The employees were looking for $100 a student said was missing.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa foundation filed an open records request seeking the disclosure of the identities of the employees, as well as the specific consequences given by the school district.

Friday, the court upheld a lower court’s ruling that the records were exempt from disclosure.
