ENERGY NEEDS: Midwest Energy Demands Set Record

Energy demand set a new record in Iowa and Minnesota. 

The Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL), an Alliant Energy Company, announced Friday that usage in the area set a record on Wednesday. 

The new peak record is 3,724 megawatts set at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25th.  The previous record was set in July of 2011 at 3,699 megawatts.
