Des Moines’ Miranda Leek competed Monday in the Olympic archery competition in London.

The West Des Moines Dowling grad was in elimination play.

Leek, took on Kateryna Palenkha from Ukraine in her first round. Miranda, dominated most of the set.

But winds pull an arrow for an eight, leaving the door open for Palenkha. Miranda’s final arrow hits the 10 and she moves on for the next round against Italy’s Pia Lionetti.

Unfortunately that’s where her individual run ended. Lionetti beat Leek 6-4 to move on to the round of sixteen.
