MAN FOUND: Missing RAGBRAI Rider Located

Des Moines police found a Minnesota man Tuesday that had been missing since Saturday.

Forty-three-year-old Eric Malmstrom rode a team bus to Des Moines after completing RAGBRAI. He got off the bus in downtown Des Moines and no one had seen him since.

Malmstrom’s family has been in town searching for him since the weekend.

Tuesday, a police officer on patrol at 63rd and Grand saw Malmstrom on the bike trial.

Malstrom was reunited with his family and checked out by paramedics.

“He was very calm and had just been out in the woods down here for couple days and we were concerned for his well being as far as dehydration and that type of thing. Seemed to be in reasonably good shape all things considered,” says Lt. Rick Host.

There’s no word yet as to why he disappeared for several days.
