A former Republican presidential hopeful and an Iowa state senator could be headed to court.

Barbara and Richard Heki filed a lawsuit in Polk County naming Michele Bachmman, Kent Sorenson and five other former members of the Bachmann for President campaign staff as plaintiffs.

In the lawsuit, Barbara Heki claims that Kent Sorenson stole an e-mail list for the group Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators from her private computer.

The Bachmann campaign later admitted it inadvertently used the mailing list.

However, Heki claims in her lawsuit that the Bachmann campaign staff told the media Heki had stolen the list. Heki says she and her husband were kicked out of NICHE after the e-mail list scandal.

They say their personal, professional, social, political and spiritual lives and careers have been affected.

The Hekis accused the Bachmann campaign staff members of breaking eight laws including trespass, invasion of privacy, libel and slander.
