LAWN RELIEF: Metro Wastewater Option

Those city flower beds may be getting a little help from the Des Moines Metro Wastewater Reclamation facility.  

The wastewater reclamation facility is offering 17 cities and counties in the metro area treated wastewater for their flower beds and flower boxes. 

The City Departments will receive the water through watering trucks that will drive around and water the areas. 

Normally, the water would go into the Des Moines River.

The water is receiving extra monitoring and extra chlorination, and is even safe for swimming.
