MEETING CHANGE: Residents Get Input On New Low-Income Housing
Southside Des Moines residents will finally get their chance to weigh in on a planned low-income housing project Wednesday.
Anawim housing wants to build a 60-unit housing complex called Mckinley Crest at 1801 Mckinley Avenue on the site of the former Hoak School.
Des Moines Planning and Zoning Commission were supposed to discuss the proposal two weeks ago, but delayed the discussion after hundreds of angry neighbors showed up at the meeting.
The meeting will now be held tomorrow night at Lincoln High School from 6-8 p.m.
