CABBIES ROBBED: Police Look For Suspects

Police are looking into whether the same people are responsible for robbing three cab drivers in two days. In two of those cases, shots were fired.  Early Friday morning, three young men robbed a cabbie in Urbandale, then fired shots at the fleeing driver. Thursday, two cabbies were held up in Des Moines by three guys fitting the same description.  Cab drivers say, it’s always a dangerous job, but now they’re being extra careful.

“I usually have the rear view mirror pointed right at them so I can watch them.” says driver Kevin Anderson, “So that’s one of the tips I tell the other cab drivers.  I never let anybody sit directly behind me because that’s an opportunity for them to really nab on me.”
